Sawtooth Mountain Family Compound
A family retreat consisting of three structures was planned for this low bank waterfront acreage. The main house is open directly to the beach and designed for relaxed island life. An nearby beach cabin was completely rebuilt over its existing footprint to provide guest quarters. - Bainbridge Island WA
Waterfront Compound
A classic mansion was originally designed for a large family with many servants. Built in 1913, it did not serve contemporary familis well, suffered from a low, dark entry and cavernous upper hallway. A new two story entry with upper gallery, new kitchen, sunroom, and family room were all created from existing spaces while maintaining the elegant home's original character. - Seattle WA
During the design process for this home, it became apparent that the existing structure would best accommodate the new needs of the family if it were raised a full story, with new living spaces added below it. The former living/dining/kitchen spaces became the new master suite. A new main floor was constructed to replace the living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room. - Seattle WA
